Below are two images of a fishtail braid i created in the very first lesson. I enjoy creating braids and feel i am relatively good at them as i have had a lot of practice. Fishtails would have been used in the Elizabethan era and would be seen with accessories such as ribbon or gems.
Buns -
Above and left are left, front and right view of a bun i created in class. This hairstyles was created without using padding or a doughnut to create shape instead just hair grips and back combing to create the volume and texture. To create this bun i firstly put the hair in a cont tail at the top of the head and back combed sections around the bun and pinned into place. This bun is formal which may have been used in the elizabethan era and i will look into using as my final design with added braids.
